Jesus spent His life helping others. “The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many.”(Matthew 20: 28) Service is the heart of the Christian life. At TLC, we serve all of God's children, from the youngest to the oldest through different service opportunities.

Military Outreach
Situated in San Diego, we serve in a community with hundreds of military families. We seek to walk alongside our military families as they spend their time in this area.
T.A.C.O.
Third Avenue Charitable Organization (T.A.C.O.) s an ecumenical ministry born out of our sister congregation, First Lutheran Church in downtown San Diego. Through volunteers serving meals, members making mask for those in our community, and collecting needed toiletries and supplies, we support T.A.C.O.'s guests.
Giving Garden
Located on the back of the church property, we host over 34 garden plots which serves opportunities in our immediate community and throughout local organizations.

Our Hands Sunday
The second Sunday of each September, we join together with all ELCA congregations for a day of service in our communities.
We have on campus activities, as well as opportunities to serve in the greater San Diego community.
